India administers more than 115 crore vaccine doses, 82% receive first dose

India administered 115.23 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines under its nationwide vaccination drive till Thursday.

Around 82% of the eligible population in the country has received the first vaccine dose while over 41% have received both doses.  Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that India is getting protected through vaccination every day. He added that the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ initiative is strengthening the world′s largest vaccination drive.

Of the total doses administered thus far, more than 61 crore doses have been administered to individuals in the 18-44 years age group, followed by those aged between 45 and 59 years. Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.28%, the highest since March last year. The daily positivity rate has been reported as 0.98% while the weekly positivity rate stands at 0.92%... (ET Healthworld, November 19, 2021)
